About this tour
Descend into King Roberts canyon for five hours of canyoning across Scotland's rugged gorge. You'll navigate natural waterslides, jump from cliff faces into pools, and scramble down rocky terrain alongside a qualified guide. This technical adventure suits those with moderate fitness and some nerve—beginners and seasoned canyoneers both go. Full protective gear is supplied, though you'll need to bring trainers that can handle soaking.
Highlights
- Waterfall jumps and natural rock slides through gorge
- Abseiling down canyon walls with full safety kit
- Crystal pools between sections for regrouping
- UKCA-qualified guide leads throughout five hours
- All protective equipment provided and fitted onsite
- Professional photos captured during your descent
What to expect
Expect to be wet and working hard. You'll start geared up in a 5mm wetsuit and neoprene jacket, then follow your guide into the canyon. The route alternates between technical climbing descents (using harness and abseil device), slides down smooth rock faces, and swims between pools. Waterfall jumps happen at your own pace—guides demonstrate first. You'll scramble, balance, and stay alert throughout. It's not leisurely; fitness matters. The five hours includes a safety briefing, gear checks, and breaks to catch breath and admire the canyon walls surrounding you.
Good to know
Bring wet trainers—no sandals or Crocs. Not suitable if you have spinal injuries, are pregnant, or have cardiovascular concerns. Moderate fitness essential. Photos are included but plan to be soaked and muddy. Check weather; canyon levels rise with heavy rain.
