What to expect

Free access. Keep dogs under control near grazing livestock (ponies, cattle, donkeys). Avoid March to July when ground-nesting birds are breeding. Wear sturdy cycling shoes and bring a spare inner tube. The trail can become muddy after rain; consider tyres with good tread in wetter months.
