What to expect
Easy, flat walking through typical New Forest woodland on well-trodden paths. The dykes themselves are subtle features in the landscape rather than dramatic structures. After rain, expect damp ground and possible muddy patches. Waymarking is generally clear. You may encounter ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby — keep dogs under control and respect livestock.

This is open-access land, so no charge or permit required. Wear suitable footwear for potentially muddy ground after rain.
