What to expect
A brief, straightforward walk on a wooden path through forest. The surface is firm and well-maintained, with no gradient to speak of. Waymarking is clear for such a short route. You may encounter ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby as part of the New Forest's free-roaming herds.

Dogs are welcome but keep them under control near grazing livestock and ground-nesting birds (especially March to July). The wooden surface drains well, though muddy patches are possible after heavy rain. This is free open access with no charge. Suitable for casual footwear.
