What to expect
Predominantly hard-packed gravel forest tracks with sections of looser surface and heathland riding. Gradient is undulating rather than steep, but the distance and variable terrain make it physically demanding. Waymarking is present throughout. Expect to encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys on grazed areas. After rain, muddy patches are common on shaded woodland sections and low-lying ground.
Good to know

- Open to cyclists
- Waymarked route
Suitable mountain bike or hybrid with good tyres recommended. Open access—no permit needed. Keep dogs under control near livestock and ground-nesting birds (March–July particularly sensitive). Carry water and repair kit; this is remote terrain. Allow extra time if conditions are wet. Sturdy footwear essential if dismounting on boggy ground.
