What to expect
Level to gently undulating terrain underfoot, mostly gravel and compacted earth. The bridleway is straightforward to follow and suitable for horses and bikes. Expect to encounter free-roaming New Forest ponies, cattle and possibly donkeys grazing nearby. After heavy rain, muddy patches are common on Forest tracks. No formal waymarking needed on this direct route.

Dogs are welcome on open access but keep them under control near grazing livestock and away from nesting birds (March to July). Wear sturdy footwear or use appropriate bike tyres; ground conditions can be boggy after rain. There is no charge for access. Ideal for a short break between longer rides.
