What to expect
An easy, flat walk on firm forest track. The route passes through typical New Forest terrain of open heath and scattered woodland. Waymarking is straightforward. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys grazing the open land. After wet weather, expect muddy patches despite the generally good surface.

Dogs are allowed on this open-access route but should be kept under control near grazing livestock. Wear appropriate footwear for potentially damp ground. There is no charge for access. This short walk is perfect as a warm-up or cool-down alongside other Forest outings.
