- Dogs welcome on lead
- Easy terrain, flat and manageable
What to expect
A simple forest track underfoot, mostly level throughout. The surface will be compacted earth and gravel, likely muddy after rain. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby — give them space. The route is undemanding and straightforward to follow; waymarking is minimal but the way is clear.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Keep dogs on a lead around livestock and during March to July (ground-nesting bird season). Wear sturdy shoes or boots if recent rain has fallen — bog patches are common in the Forest. This is free open access land; no car park fees apply. The track can become muddy, so waterproof footwear is sensible.
