What to expect
A straightforward walk on a compacted gravel and earth track through New Forest woodland. The route is flat with no significant gradient. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys on or near the track. The surface is generally firm underfoot, though it can become muddy after rain. Waymarking is minimal on a well-established route.

- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Keep dogs under control near grazing livestock and during spring and summer when ground-nesting birds are present (March to July). Wear appropriate footwear as the track may be wet or boggy in places after rain. No facilities along this short route; plan accordingly.
