What to expect
A straightforward walk on well-maintained gravel underfoot with no gradient to speak of. The track is open to the sky across typical New Forest heath and grassland, often grazed by ponies and cattle. Waymarking is clear. After heavy rain, expect some wet patches on the gravel.

- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Dogs are allowed under close control; be mindful of livestock and ground-nesting birds from March to July. Sturdy shoes are adequate for dry conditions, but waterproof footwear is wise after rain. There is no charge for access or parking.
