What to expect
Easy walking on a dirt track beside the brook. Terrain is mostly level with no steep sections. The path may be soft underfoot after wet weather. You'll likely encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby — part of the Forest's traditional landscape. The route is well-used and easy to follow.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Dogs are allowed on open access land but keep them under control near grazing animals and avoid ground-nesting bird areas (March to July). Wear sturdy footwear as mud can develop after rain. There is no charge for access. This is a short stroll rather than a long walk — ideal for a quick outing or leg-stretch.
