What to expect
A short, straightforward walk on ground surface through open-access forest terrain. The going is easy with no significant slopes. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby—keep dogs under control and give livestock space. Expect muddy patches after rain despite the short distance. Waymarking should be clear for such a well-used route near a town.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
No facilities are required for a 5-minute walk. Wear sensible footwear; ground can be boggy after wet weather. Keep dogs close to livestock and away from ground-nesting birds during March to July. There's no charge for access. Ideal as a family warm-up or leg-stretch between activities.
