What to expect
An unpaved gravel and earth track with minimal elevation change throughout. The route crosses open heathland and light woodland typical of the New Forest, likely with patches of rougher ground underfoot. After rain, expect muddy sections and possible waterlogged areas. Free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys graze nearby, so watch for livestock. The track is open to walkers, cyclists and horse riders; give way as needed.
