What to expect
A short, level path on firm ground leading to the bridge itself. Waymarking is clear. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby, so keep dogs under control. No significant gradient. The ground can be boggy after heavy rain, though the short distance means it usually remains passable.

Dogs are permitted but must be kept away from grazing livestock and ground-nesting birds (March to July). No facilities or charges. Wear suitable footwear for muddy patches after rain. This brief walk works well as a focal point or short break during a longer New Forest outing.
