What to expect
A flat, easy footpath on open access land. The ground is likely to be firm grassland or light gravel. Waymarking may be minimal given the route's short length; the path is straightforward to follow. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys—keep dogs under close control.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Wear sturdy shoes or boots for grip on wet ground, especially after rain. Dogs must be kept on a lead near livestock and away from ground-nesting birds (March to July). This is a quick stroll rather than an outing, perfect as part of a longer day exploring the Forest. No facilities or charges.
