What to expect
A level gravel track bordered by woodland and open heath characteristic of the New Forest. Surfaces are generally firm and well-drained, though muddy patches may form after heavy rain. Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Standard walking or cycling footwear is adequate. Dogs are permitted on this open-access route but must be kept under control around livestock and away from ground-nesting birds between March and July. The track can hold water and become boggy in places after rain, so waterproof boots may be needed in wet conditions.
