What to expect
A level, easy walk on compacted gravel underfoot. The track is well-defined and straightforward to follow. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys on the open access land, so keep dogs under control. After heavy rain, gravel can become muddy in patches, but drainage is generally good. No significant climbs.

Dogs are welcome on this open access route, but keep them away from livestock and under close control during nesting season (March to July). Wear sturdy shoes with good grip for muddy conditions after rain. The Forest is free to access; no permits or parking charges apply.
