What to expect
An unpaved track winding through woodland with a gentle, flat to slightly rolling feel. The surface is largely stable but can be muddy after rain, especially in winter. Waymarking is adequate for a short route. You may encounter horses and other riders, and grazing livestock (ponies, cattle, donkeys) roam freely across the forest.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
- Open to horse riders
Dogs are allowed on this open-access route but keep them under control near grazing animals and away from ground-nesting birds (March to July). Wear sturdy, waterproof footwear or trail shoes—mud is common after wet weather. The bridleway is free to use. Suitable for bikes with moderate clearance.
