What to expect
A mix of gravel forest tracks and footpaths with gentle undulation. Waymarkers guide you clearly throughout. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys grazing on the open ground. Sections can be boggy after heavy rain, so sturdy footwear is sensible. The terrain alternates between enclosed woodland and more open grassland.

Dogs are welcome but should be kept under control near grazing livestock and away from ground-nesting birds between March and July. There is no charge for access. Wear waterproof or robust walking boots, especially after wet weather. The route is free and open to all.
