Quomp
About this cycle path
Quomp is a short, easy cycle path near Ringwood, ideal for a quick spin or as part of a longer New Forest ride. At just 20 metres, it's more of a connector than a destination in itself, but it offers straightforward cycling on open-access terrain with minimal fuss.
Highlights
- Quick, flat cycle from Ringwood
- Open-access New Forest riding
- Dogs welcome on lead near livestock
- Easy gradient, minimal obstacles
What to expect
A brief, level cycle path with easy riding underfoot. The surface and exact terrain depend on seasonal conditions—expect firm gravel or grass, potentially muddier after rain. No significant gradient. Waymarking should be clear for such a short route. You may encounter free-roaming New Forest livestock (ponies, cattle, donkeys), so keep pace steady and alert.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
- Open to cyclists
This tiny path works best as a link to longer rides rather than a standalone outing. Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control near grazing animals and are particularly important to restrain from March to July during ground-nesting bird season. No facilities or charges. Sturdy bike tyres recommended for soft ground after rain.
