What to expect
Mostly level going underfoot on grassy open access land. The path is informal but clear, crossing heathland where you'll likely encounter grazing livestock. The walk is short and straightforward with minimal ascent. You may encounter wet or boggy patches after rain, and the exposed terrain offers little shelter.

Dogs are welcome on this open-access land but must be kept under control near grazing animals and away from ground-nesting bird areas (sensitive March–July). Wear sturdy footwear, as the ground can be muddy in wet weather. There is no charge for access to the Forest.
