Route 246 is a challenging 58 km cycle route starting from Totton that carries you deep into the New Forest's varied landscape. What to expect
Predominantly gravel forest tracks with looser surfaces and occasional boggy patches, particularly after rain. Terrain is undulating with some sustained climbs throughout. The route winds through enclosed woodland and opens onto grazed heathland where you'll share space with free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys. Waymarks guide the way, though concentration is needed on longer sections.
