What to expect
Soft woodland floor underfoot, mostly level walking with no significant gradient. The path is straightforward to follow through beech woodland. You may encounter free-roaming New Forest ponies, cattle or donkeys on adjacent open access land. The route is short enough to remain clear underfoot even after wet weather, though muddy patches are possible in winter.

- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Dogs are welcome on open access. Watch them around livestock and ground-nesting birds (especially March to July). Sturdy shoes will handle the woodland floor easily. This very short route makes an ideal warm-up walk or pairs well with other nearby routes for a fuller day out.
