What to expect
Flat to gently undulating terrain underfoot, a mix of gravel forest track and open grassland typical of Forest access areas. Waymarking should be clear for this short route. Watch for free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys grazing the open areas. After wet weather, muddy patches may appear, particularly near woodland edges.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
No charge for access. Wear sturdy footwear, especially after rain. Dogs are welcome on open access land but should be kept under control near livestock and away from ground-nesting bird areas (March to July). Keep dogs on lead around grazed areas if unfamiliar with livestock presence.
