What to expect
A level gravel track, easy underfoot and simple to follow. You'll pass through sections of light woodland interspersed with open heath grazed by free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys—keep your distance and supervise dogs. The track can become muddy after rain despite the gravel, so waterproof footwear is sensible. Clear, direct waymarking.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
- Open to cyclists
- Open to horse riders
Dogs are welcome but must be kept under close control near grazing livestock and, from March to July, away from ground-nesting birds. The track is open to all users—expect horses and cycles. No facilities or charges; bring water for longer outings. Sturdy walking shoes or bike tyres with grip recommended in wet conditions.
