What to expect
A flat, well-compacted gravel track running through open heathland and grassland grazed by forest animals. The surface is even and requires no special footwear. Expect to encounter ponies, cattle or donkeys at close range—they are habituated to people but keep a respectful distance.

Dogs are welcome on open access land but should be kept under close control near livestock and away from ground-nesting birds between March and July. No facilities or parking charges apply. After heavy rain, gravel tracks can develop muddy patches, so waterproof footwear is sensible in wet weather.
