What to expect
Flat to gently rolling ground underfoot, a mix of gravel forest paths and open heathland. The route is straightforward with minimal climb. You may encounter free-roaming New Forest ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing nearby—keep dogs under control and give livestock space. After rain, expect boggy patches and muddy sections on the heathland.
