- Dogs welcome on open access
- Flat terrain through Forest landscape
What to expect
Mostly level ground underfoot with a mix of grass and gravel typical of New Forest open access areas. Walking is straightforward with minimal gradient. The path is clearly walked but not formally waymarked. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing the land; keep a respectful distance and observe their presence calmly.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Suit-up for weather — the open landscape offers little shelter. After heavy rain, patches may become boggy. Dogs should be kept under control near grazing livestock and away from ground-nesting birds (March to July). Sturdy footwear recommended, especially in wet conditions.
