What to expect
A straightforward unpaved track with easy terrain and no significant gradient changes. The surface is typical New Forest gravel and earth, which can be boggy in wet weather. Expect encounters with grazing ponies, cattle or donkeys on open access land. The track is not formally waymarked but is clear and direct.

Keep dogs under control near livestock and especially from March to July when ground-nesting birds breed. Wear sturdy boots or shoes, as mud and puddles are common after rain. There are no facilities along this short route, and access is free. Cycling is permitted throughout.
