What to expect
Predominantly gravel forest tracks and country lanes, with some tarmac road sections. Gradient is varied with several steep climbs and descents typical of New Forest topography. Terrain can be muddy and rutted after rain, particularly on bridleways and forest tracks. Waymarking is generally clear. You'll share sections with walkers and horses; free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys may be present on open access land.
