What to expect
Level gravel underfoot throughout. The track is straightforward with no steep sections. You may encounter grazing ponies, cattle or donkeys common to the New Forest's open commons. Waymarking should guide you clearly. After heavy rain, expect soft or muddy patches.

Dogs are allowed but keep them under control near livestock and avoid ground-nesting birds March to July. Sturdy trainers or walking boots are sensible, especially after wet weather. There is no charge for access. The track may be busy in summer weekends.
