What to expect
A gentle track underfoot with no significant slopes. The ground is mostly firm, though it may be muddy or boggy after rain. The route passes through open heathland and light woodland typical of the Forest. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys; keep dogs under control. Waymarking is minimal, but the short distance and clear track make navigation straightforward.

Wear sturdy, waterproof footwear if rain is forecast. Keep dogs on a lead, especially March to July when ground-nesting birds are breeding. There is no charge for access. This is a short walk — consider linking it to other nearby tracks or paths for a longer day out.
