What to expect
Grass underfoot throughout, with a completely flat route. No waymarking needed on this short, direct path. You may encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle or donkeys grazing the open heathland, so stay alert and keep to the established line. Well-trodden and easy to follow.
Good to know
- Dogs welcome (keep under control near livestock & wildlife)
Dogs are allowed as this is open-access land, but keep them under control around grazing livestock. Wear suitable footwear (grass can be wet and muddy after rain). There is no charge for access. Avoid the route during nesting season (March–July) if possible, as ground-nesting birds use open heathland.
