What to expect
Mostly flat terrain on open access heathland, with firm ground underfoot on established paths. You'll encounter free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys grazing across the landscape, so expect to share space with livestock. Waymarking is clear, making navigation straightforward. Boggy patches are possible after heavy rain, but the short distance and low gradient mean the route remains accessible year-round.

Dogs are allowed on open access but must be kept under control around livestock and away from ground-nesting birds (March to July). Wear sturdy walking boots; trainers risk becoming muddy after wet weather. There is no charge for access.
